The colourful cuisine of Bangladesh has been moulded over the centuries by it’s rich historical heritage and bountiful landscape. The country’s low-lying altitude and wealth of water, especially in monsoon season, grows an abundant food basket. The ancient central trade route of Dhaka has brought many culinary styles that have influenced Bangladesh’s cuisine, from the Mughols, Turks and Persians to the British.

Bangladesh’s culinary flavours are based on the Ayurveda principle of six flavours,  sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent. All these flavours should be balanced in every meal to create a divine combination you will want to relish and savour.
